Marian has been writing and editing professionally since 1984 when she began working for a Canadian nationwide Christian publisher based in Ontario. In 2000 she resigned as managing editor of that company in order to begin researching and writing books. Her first book,
George Frideric Handel: A Music Lover's Guide was published by WPP in 2007.
Confessions of a Cataholic came out in November 2009.
Marian is also a classical musician and works as a church music director (organist and choir director). For recreation she sings in a symphony chorus, gardens, tends to her backyard pond, reads, bicycles, and watches (and occasionally plays) baseball with her husband, Ed Cassidy (o

n TV and at as many Major League parks as possible). She and Ed also, of course, plays with and tend to their five cats.
Marian holds an M.A. in music history and an M.L.S. in Library and Information Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She received her B.A. from Trinity Christian College near Chicago and also went to Dordt College in northwest Iowa. She is a native of the Chicago area, lived in Canada for 17 years, and has lived in western New York since 1990.
